Red Gerard first strapped into a snowboard when he was only two, although his career took off when his family moved to Colorado, from Cleveland, when he was seven. His life is snow; he has four brothers, two sisters and they have their own on-snow trick park in their property’s backyard that has allowed Red to become a railmaster. At only seventeen years old he finished 2017 ranked 1st in the FIS World Cup rankings for Slopestyle and 4th overall.
Last week in Snowmass Colorado Red posted his second slopestyle victory in an Olympic qualifying event with a near-perfect score in snowy conditions. That secured his place on Team USA for the Olympics.
He will compete in both Slopestyle and Big Air next month in the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics in South Korea.
